Lisa is a journalist and television director and producer, and the founder of Left Hand Films located in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Together with Shareen Anderson, Lisa co-directed and co-produced Forgotten Freedom Fighters, a one hour documentary film for Al Jazeera English, as well as the critically-acclaimed eight episode documentary series Saving Soweto, also for Al Jazeera English. She was also consulting producer on Charents: In Search Of My Armenian Poet.

Most recently, Shareen and Lisa co-directed and co-produced These Streets Belong To Us, a one hour documentary about how three Johannesburg communities are dealing with the high levels of crime in South Africa and the Rageh Omaar Report: The Party's Over for Al Jazeera English.

Prior to the above projects, she spent five years in London where she worked for Associated Press Television News (APTN) as a producer. She began there as a newsroom assistant and also spent time working on the planning desk as a newsroom co-ordinator. Before leaving for the UK, she worked for Sanpro Productions in Northern Kwazulu Natal, covering the South African elections in 1999 for the SABC in that region, as well as writing for the local paper, The Northern Natal Courier. She began her television career in 1997 working for Saira Essa on Chill Out (SABC 3) and Eastern Mosaic inserts. Lisa also writes for South African publications O Magazine and Your Baby.

Lisa graduated from Wits University with a BA in English and Drama & Film in 1994.
